After falling to a defeat to Yeovil Town in the final Checkatrade Trophy group game, the Royals have a chance to exact some revenge against the Glovers and to win a place in the quarter-final with a win in the 7pm kick-off at Huish Park on Tuesday evening.
Reading were already guaranteed a place in the knock-out stages when the teams met at Madejski Stadium back in November, but a 2-0 win for Darren Way’s side ensured they would also progress to the final 32 as group leaders.
A 4-1 demolition job on visiting MK Dons in the second stage ensured Yeovil would take a place in the third round; the Royals on the other hand had to battle from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Southampton. That meant we had more penalty drama – but ultimately a 4-3 triumph on spot-kicks for Martin Kuhl’s men.
So now we meet again, with a place in the last eight at stake. If you’re available, be sure to make your way to Huish Park in support of our youngsters.
Reading supporters should please contact the Yeovil Town ticket office to book tickets by ringing 01935 847 888.
Tickets are priced £10 Adults, £5 ages 65 & Over and 16-21 and £1 Under-16.

John Brooks takes charge of this one - his fourth game in this year's Checkatrade Trophy. He has overseen one Glovers game so far this season - hosts Mansfield were 1-0 winners in their League 2 game that afternoon, despite Danny Rose being shown a straight red by the official in the 9th minute. It is the first Royals game he has overseen.
Richard Hulme and Simon Knapp will be his assistants, and fourth official for the evening is Brendan Malone.
