Uche Ikpeazu and Craig Tanner each scored a hat-trick as the young Royals hit Blackburn for six at Hogwood Park.
Our Academy totally dominated a sorry Rovers side to record their eighth consecutive win and stay top of the Barclays U18 Premier League with one game left.
It could have been a trickier task had Dan Lincoln not saved an early penalty - and the visitors were made to pay as top scorer Ikpeazu soon opened the scoring at the other end.
Four minutes later the Royals had a spot-kick of their own - with Rovers defender David Raya lucky to escape a straight red. Tanner coolly dispatched the penalty to make it two.
Reading were awarded another penalty shortly before the interval. This time, Ikpeazu did the honours and struck home to give the Royals a commanding half time lead.
Five minutes after the restart, and it was four. Tanner grabbed his second of the game after capitalising on some poor Blackburn defending.
With half an hour left, Tanner and Ikpeazu both searched for their hat-tricks and it was the latter who first registered his. Uche's deflected effort made it five - and recorded his 14th strike of the season.
A fourth penalty of the one-sided affair was awarded with fifteen minutes left - and up stepped Tanner to score his third and Reading's sixth.
Rovers' Curtis Haley, who missed the early penalty, lashed home late on to bag a consolation goal - but it didn't take the shine off a dominant Royals victory.
The final whistle confirmed eight wins on the bounce for the young Royals, who will be aiming to secure the Barclays U18 Premier League title on Saturday at Arsenal.
