Surgery for left back

Defender Wayne Bridge has undergone a knee operation and will be out for a number of weeks.

The left back has been troubled by the problem recently, and underwent a procedure this week to help rectify the problem.

The Royals have a few injuries to contend with at the moment; Danny Williams trained at the early part of this week but suffered a slight setback on Thursday.

Royston Drenthe continues to recover from his own foot problem and will use the international break to step up his rehab, while ankle victim Mikele Leigertwood had a couple of days' training at the end of the week.

Jem Karacan and Jason Roberts are long term injuries and working well with our physio team.
