After the game, the striker said: "All due respect to Manchester City – they’re a great team. But when I got the ball I knew the goal was in front of me a long way away. There weren’t many options on so I thought I’d see how far I could go with the ball. I did see Tanner but he was marked, so I just thought I’d try and get into the box.
"I got a little bit of luck with the rebound off the defender but it’s always good to score and I’ll take it as one of my best goals. It’s been a good year for me, but the season isn’t over yet."

U21s coach Chris Cummins, who has seen Dominic's progression this season, wasn't surprised to see him score such a wonderful goal.
"Dominic's got that in his locker," he said. "Sometimes he needs to work that little bit harder but he's an unbelievable athlete. He's got wonderful feet, scores goals and he's young - which is the important thing."
