Ryan Edward's Young Socceroos will take on Iraq tonight for a place in the final of the AFC U19s Championship.
Edwards played the full 90 minutes of the Australia under-20's first match of the tournament - a 1-0 win over Qatar, before featuring as a substitute for their draw with Syria.
Reading's under-21s midfielder then skippered Australia to group qualification after 1-1 draw over Saudi Arabia, but was then an unused substitute for the Aussies' 3-0 quarter-final win over Jordan - which, in the process, secured under-20 World Cup qualification for the Young Socceroos.
On qualifying for the prestigious tournament, Ryan tweeted, "WORLD CUP next year in Turkey!!!! One of the best moments I've been apart of! What a feeling! Proud and honoured to be apart of this team!"
Edwards will be hoping to play his part in helping Australia reach the AFC U19s Championship final - with Iraq standing in their way tonight. On his twitter feed, Ryan remarked, "Big semi final showdown tonight against Iraq! #youngsocceroos"
Reading FC wishes Ryan and the Young Socceroos the best of luck tonight!
