Gozie to join Yeovil on loan

Young striker Gozie Ugwu has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with the Royals, the 19-year-old Academy graduate committing his future to the club until the summer of 2014.

And, upon signing a new deal, Ugwu has immediately linked up with Yeovil Town to start a six-month loan spell with the League One outfit.

Ugwu impressed during a loan stint with Blue Square Premier side Ebbsfleet towards the end of last season and will now look to gain valuable experience at Huish Park until 1st January 2013.

Director of Football Nick Hammond said, "Gozie has done well over the last six months - he had a good loan spell at Ebbsfleet towards the end of last season and he's come back looking really sharp.

"It's really important that we secure good loan moves for our young players which will help them develop and there was a lot of interest in Gozie. This move is a good opportunity for him to go away and score goals at a very good level of football."

The young forward also signalled his delight at the opportunity.

"I'm really happy to sign a contract at Raading and secure my future here,” he said.

“Now I'm looking to go out, play games, get my experience, play for first team football. I've been here since I was 14 years old and I've seen a lot of boys come and go during that time, so it's not been easy, but I've got here in the end.”
