Key information for Saturday's match

Plenty going on in and around the Madejski Stadium on Saturday as Brian McDermott's troops take on Manchester United - here's what you need to know...

Please note that, due to the later kick off time, the Royals Fun Zone will not be in operation.

Ex-Players return
Reading Football Club will welcome three very special former Reading FC guests to Saturday's match. First is former ‘Busby Babe’ Tom Ritchie. Picked up by Matt Busby whilst playing junior football in his native Northern Ireland, Tom joined United in December 1950. A prolific goalscorer at reserve team level at Old Trafford, he never played in the league for our visitors and he soon travelled south and joined Reading with glowing recommendations from Sir Matt Busby himself. Following his £3,500 transfer, Tom made his Reading debut in 1953, but soon suffered a long term injury and only made a total of 18 appearances before being forced to retire in 1955.

Also present on Saturday are Mark White and Kevin Watson. Considered one of the best left-backs ever to play for Reading, Mark was an ever present during the club’s 1978-79 Fourth Division Championship winning season, winning a PFA Divisional award on the way. That season also saw Mark win the club's ‘Player of the Year’ award – and White also scored the goal that earned us promotion from the Fourth Division again in 1983-84. Kevin Watson, meanwhile, started his career as a trainee with his local side Tottenham in 1992. Kevin played for Spurs, Swindon and then Rotherham before being signed by Alan Pardew at Reading. In his first season at Madejski Stadium he helped the Royals to promotion as runners-up.

Stadium turnstiles will also open early. From 3.30pm you can enter the stadium - even more reason to arrive at the Madejski in good time!

Half time
Supporters are reminded that they can go outside at half time to use the catering units to buy food and drink and smoke cigarettes if they wish to.

In the north, south and west stand supporters can collect a pass-out ticket from the steward/customer support staff starting five minutes prior to half time. Spectators can then return through the correct turnstile by giving up the pass-out ticket to the turnstile operator. The turnstiles will be closed five minutes after the start of the second half.

In the east stand all the exit gates are opened up so it is quite obvious supporters can go outside in the secure compound.
