Academy graduate Hal Robson-Kanu says the Royals have their attentions firmly on tomorrow’s League Cup third round tie at Queens Park Rangers.
Reading have enjoyed their cup run exploits in recent years – and the Welsh international is full of optimism ahead of Wednesday’s Capital One clash at Loftus Road.
“It’s a cup game - and we know all about cup competitions over the years,” he said. “We’re looking forward to it and we’ll be fully focused.
“We always aim to look at the next match. It’s important that we put the West Brom game to the back of our minds and concentrate on QPR.”
The tricky winger, who notched the club’s first ever home-grown Premier League goal, is confident that the Royals can prove the doubters wrong following last Saturday’s unfortunate defeat to West Brom.
“It was frustrating to lose as I thought the boys were fantastic to stay in the game late on. But we’ll move on and move on quickly.
“It’s always good to get time on the pitch and when you do, obviously you want to do well and that’s what I’ll continue to do.
“When results aren’t going your way, you need the big characters to step up to the plate and we’ve certainly got the people in the changing room to do that.
“I’m sure over the course of the season we’ll show that and prove a lot of people wrong.”
