Striker calls for resilience

Striker Noel Hunt insists the Royals are ready to fight tooth and nail in the Barclays Premier League.

The Irish frontman made no bones about last night's defeat to an inspired Arsenal side - but says there'll be no blame attached to anyone, as the squad are all in it together.

"They were a couple of soft goals to give away but we're not blaming anyone - it's down to all of us," Hunty said. "We still had plenty of chances - if we got the final ball right then it could have been a different story.

"We know we weren't at our best but we're working hard on the training ground. We all discuss and talk about it but there's no finger pointing.

"We know what we've got to do, we know we're right in the middle of it. But we're willing to fight. We can't give up, that's for sure.

"I remember last season we got booed off against Doncaster at half time - but we ended up winning that game and then we won the league. We owe the fans, they've been brilliant. We need to rectify a few things - that's for definite."

Hunty pointed out that the Royals are capable of finding the back of the net - and urges the Royals to travel to Premier League champions Manchester City with no fear.

"Realistically, we're scoring goals. We scored a couple against Arsenal and we had chances to get more in the first half," he added.

"We've got to go there with a big fight in us. We've got to got there with pride and no fear whatsoever. I've been at this club for a long time now and I'm a proud man. I'm proud of this club and for me, there's nothing left to do but fight."
