Jobi McAnuff believes the Royals won’t be holding back when they take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, in a long overdue return to Premier League action.
Spurs travel to Madejski Stadium for a ‘Super Sunday’ of action – with the 4pm kick off broadcast live on Sky Sports.
“It’s all to play for, we’re at home and we’re going to go for it,” said the Reading captain.
“We did really well against Chelsea and were unfortunate not to get anything– we’re going to try and win every game we can and we’re looking forward to the game. It’s been a strange start to the season, with the Chelsea game moved and the postponement at Sunderland – so we can’t wait to get going again.”
Andre Villas Boas’ squad is certainly brimming with talent – particularly with the additional firepower of Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey, who arrived towards the climax of the transfer window. McAnuff, however – refuses to be intimidated.
“We want to do as well as we can this year, you look at the clubs last year who showed they can easily compete – then this season West Ham have started really well, Southampton have nearly beaten Manchester United and Man City so there’s no reason why we can’t come up and be very competitive.
“It’s going to be tight this year, but like last year everyone is beating everyone – so why not us?”
