Jem Karacan and Danny Guthrie are set to gain vital match fitness in a friendly clash with Bournemouth on Tuesday afternoon.
Karacan has been missing since sustaining knee ligament damage in a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in October, whilst Guthrie will also benefit from valuable minutes under his belt.
Brian McDermott said, "Danny was going to be sub against Arsenal, I had a good conversation with him beforehand. He has a slight problem with his thigh so we decided it was better for him to get ninety minutes for the reserves rather than sit on the bench.
"He hasn't played 90 minutes in a long time. He needs to play football, to give himself a chance of playing in our next league game. We'll test it in the game tomorrow and hopefully be ready for the game Saturday.
"Jem will play as well and we think Sean Morrison will be back sooner rather than later."
The clash with the Cherries will be played behind closed doors - kick off 12pm.
