RFC's Women were held to a 1-1 draw by a resolute QPR side in the final League Cup group match.
Fran Kirby was once again on the scoresheet for Reading but Rangers hit back to equalise in the second half.
Chances were aplenty for the Royals in the first half, with Kirby passing up an excellent opportunity to take the lead, but was denied in a one-on-one with the QPR goalkeeper.
Charlotte Chard tested then forced a save from the 'keeper, before Kirby struck the post from the rebound. Alice Palmer couldn't keep her shot down as a frustrated Reading side went into the break with the score goalless.
The second half continued in the same pattern - until the Royals took the lead through Kirby. The Ladies top scorer thumped in her 21st of the season after racing past Rangers' centre back.
RFC's Women went in search of a second goal to kill the game off, but were punished as QPR capitalised on the space in behind and the striker headed in a rebound after smashing the bar.
Reading pushed for a late winner, and although Rebecca Jane, Nikki Watts and Kirby all had chances to nick it, the final League Cup group match ended all square.
Our Women return to league action next week - at home to West Ham United.
