Centre back Adrian Mariappa says the Royals will be giving it everything they've got to take three points off Liverpool at Madejski Stadium this Saturday.
The defender reflected on last weekend's defeat to Southampton and rued a first half of missed opportunities, including headed chance from Mapps which was well saved by Saints goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
"We started well, created a good few opportunities and could have probably could have taken the lead," Adrian said. "We were on the front foot, put them under really good pressure and created some really good opportunities, but unfortunately they didn't go in for us.
"I got a decent contact on it (the header), tried to get the header low - but to be fair to the 'keeper he got down well and unfortunately all the ricochets went their way.
"We can't do anything about that game now and we have to keep going. We take the positives, move forward and look to the next game now. We'll prepare the best we can and give it everything against Liverpool next Saturday."
Though the Royals have an uphill task to remain in the Barclays Premier League, Mariappa pointed out that the side have been written off even before the start of the season - and says that every single player is doing their utmost for the cause.
"We were written off before the season started. There's going to be pressure now in every moment in all of these games but obviously now we need to get the points on the board.
"Everyone is just focused on the same thing, we're trying to survive. Everyone's trying to play out of their skins to make sure we stay in this league, that's the main focus for everyone at the club."
