Reading Football Club's catering partner Levy Restaurants have been busy this summer and have created a new pie unique to RFC!
Levy are using a local ale supplied by the Loddon Brewery - the new Steak & Loddon Brewery Ale pie uses Hullabaloo Best Bitter sourced from the family-run brewery in Dunsden, between Reading and Henley.
The Levy Restaurants team were passionate in creating something unique to the Football Club, whilst using locally sourced ingredients. The team visited the Peters Foods factory to see the pies being made and brewery to see the quite complex process of the local ale being brewed.
Stephen Bendle, National Account Manager for Peters Foods said, "It was a pleasure to welcome the Levy team from Reading to our factory, we had the chance to show off the production facilities that have been used in producing this new pie exclusive to the Mad Stad!"
Luke Hearn from the family-run brewers was equally as proud, commenting, "We’re delighted to be working with the team from RFC. Not only is it fantastic exposure for ourselves but being huge sport fans we’re very proud to be associated with the club. We can’t wait to taste a ‘Steak and Loddon Ale’ pie whilst watching a match!”
This is one of a number of new products fans can expect this season. The catering team at the stadium are excited about the new season.
Marieke Boer and Ally Mcintosh, Concessions Managers at the Stadium said, "We wanted to create something unique to Reading FC and what better way to do this than through one of our most popular products, the Steak & Ale Pie. The Local Ale gives the Pie a distinct flavour, different to the standard product and we think it will be a winner with the fans. Were very grateful to both Peters Foods and the Loddon Brewery for working with us to produce this great product."
The Pie along with our New Kingsley Kids Lunch bag will be available at all of our Food Kiosks at the Stadium.
