They say hard work brings rewards – and that mantra certainly worked for Brian McDermott’s men this weekend!
As a team, the Royals covered more ground than any other Premier League side in action on Saturday - amassing a stunning total of 67.2 miles, which is the equivalent of five Reading half marathons!
The closest competitors elsewhere in the division were, in fact, Everton – who clocked up 65.84 miles, whilst West Brom notched 64.81 miles as Shane Long inspired the Baggies to a win over Chelsea.
What’s more, Jay Tabb officially covered more miles than any other player in the Barclays Premier League!
‘Tabby’ scampered 7.23 miles over the 90 minutes, eclipsing his nearest divisional rival – Swansea’s Jonathan de Guzmán (7.02 miles).
Jay’s central midfield partner wasn’t slacking off either – as Mikele Leigertwood’s 6.73 miles was bettered only by seven players in the top flight.
