Hunt sees improvements in play

Striker Noel Hunt believes the Royals' new way of playing under Nigel Adkins is now beginning to come together.

Playing in a slightly deeper role behind Pavel Pogrebnyak against Liverpool, Hunty was pleased with the Royals showing against the Europa League hopefuls - and felt he could have nicked the winner!

"We were solid, had a good structure about us and passed it well," Noel said. "It's the new way we're playing and it's starting to come together. It was a point against Liverpool - a quality side. We were our full worth for the draw.

"It was a great ball from Pav, and I think I just caught it too cleanly. It would have been nice to see it hit the net but it wasn't to be.

"I was playing in a deeper role and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can keep on going and keep on learning how we want to play."

Hunt believes that improvements are being made all the time to the side, and can't wait to face Norwich this this weekend at Carrow Road.

"We're working our socks off and we're slowly improving. We're keeping the ball a lot better again and it's a step in the right direction," Hunty added.

"We're still in the race. We looked sharp and fit - we'll be working on that this week and then we can bring on Norwich. Hopefully we can get a couple more chances then and put them in the back of the net this time."
