McCarthy progressing, Fellaini on course

Brian McDermott has confirmed the Royals have no new injury worries ahead of the trip to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Alex McCarthy and Jason Roberts continue to recuperate from long term injuries, with Reading’s boss confirming that his goalkeeper is getting “closer every day” to making a full return. Pavel Pogrebnyak will miss the game through suspension.

Toffees assistant manager Steve Round has told evertonfc.com that Marouane Fellaini has a ‘good chance’ of being involved after missing Tuesday’s win over Oldham Athletic, while Victor Anichebe’s fitness will also be checked following the striker’s two-game absence through injury. Tony Hibbert remains on the sidelines as he continues his recovery from calf surgery.
