Big names to take on Arsenal

The Royals have named a squad with a mix of experience and youth to face Arsenal's under-21s at Barnet Football Club's Underhill stadium.

The full Under-21 squad: Stuart Taylor, Jonathan Henly; Sean Morrison, Niall Keown, Sean Long, Nicholas Arnold, Matthew Partridge; Josh Webb, Danny Guthrie, Charlie, Losasso, Aaron Tshibola, Lawson D’Ath, Jake Taylor; Adam Le Fondre, Dominic Samuel, Jason Roberts.

Development coach Chris Cummins said, “It will be great for the young pros to play alongside the senior players.

“We’ll have Sean Morrison involved tonight – he’s a fantastic young player who has played for the first team and will be great for the likes of Nick Arnold and Niall Keown to look up to tonight.

“And going forward we’ve got two top strikers in Alfie and Jason Roberts – fantastic examples for all the attackers to learn from.

“We’re all pleased Jason has recovered from his injury – his influence and experience in the team is unbelievable and all the young players certainly look up to him. It’ll be good for Jason on a personal level to get
minutes under his belt, too.”

The Royals will certainly be boosted by the under-18s result over the weekend - our Academy beat the Gunners 3-0 thanks to an Uche Ikpeazu hat-trick!

Tonight’s game will be a 7pm kick off at Underhill, but if you can’t make it then follow our official twitter feed for live updates!
