Royals duo Adam Le Fondre and Chris Gunter say the side are champing at the bit to get going at Villa Park tonight.
It's little more than 72 hours since the Royals were dealt an injury-time blow at Wigan, but games in quick succession are certainly not foreign to the Royals.
"We did well to get back into it after going behind but unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be and they scored on the break," said Alfie. "I could have scored when it was 1-1 but the 'keeper pulled off an excellent save.
"We're doing reasonably well, we're scoring goals away from home as a group and as a team. But we all defend as a team so we take the burden on all of our shoulders - all eleven of us.
"It's Saturday to Tuesday - but we were used to that in the Championship last year. It's a very demanding league but it's where we want to be."
Full-back Gunter echoes the sentiments of Le Fondre - and says the lads are completely focussed on the task the lies ahead tonight.
"After Everton we were in a good place - but whatever has happened has gone and we move forward and look to get a win.
"We move on to a big game against Villa. We all just focus on what we do - we know we're good enough to compete in this league."
