Reading Football Club hosted their second Sporting Dinner of the season in Madejski Stadium's Princess Suite on Thursday 24th April and the evening was another great success.

More than 400 people were thoroughly entertained by accomplished guest speaker and former British Lions rugby union captain Willie John McBride and comedian Adger Brown.

A special thank you must be made to the Bank of Ireland for sponsoring the evening. Andrew Henderson, a guest of the evening's sponsors, successfully bid for the star auction prize - a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with the Royals first team at their Hogwood Park training base, and a seat on the team coach to travel with the players and management to a pre-season away trip this summer.

"We are keen to further our support of the club in the future, and are committed to expanding our activity within the Thames Valley Business community"

Chairman John Madejski was joined on the top table by some of the Club's coaching staff, including Steve Coppell, and in his speech he offered his unwavering support to the manager and his team for the season's finale.

One of England's World Cup winning heroes, Martin Peters, will be the guest speaker at Reading's next Sporting Dinner, which will be held on Thursday 13th November 2008. Gary Marshall will provide the laughs. To book your table now, email sportingdinner@readingfc.co.uk or call Sara Jacob on 0118 9681304
