Little hands out prizes at Study centre

Posted on: Wed 25 Jul 2007

Glen Little was on hand at the Madejski Stadium Study Centre on Friday evening to hand out prizes to children who have been taking part in our 'Playing for Success' scheme.

The celebration event was well attended by more than 50 primary school children, and Glen presented certificates to all the children who had completed the six week course.

The schools represented were St Martins Primary, EP Collier, Whitley Park Junior and Churchend, and pupils from each school presented some of the work that had been part of their course, including poetry, match commentary and video compositions.

Glen also presented prize winners with meal vouchers from TGI Friday, while Jason Whiteway from the John Madejski Academy was given a gift for his work as a volunteer on the PfS scheme.

Playing for Success uses the power of sport to involve children in improving their English, Maths and IT skills, and the Study Support Centre at Madejski Stadium hosts around 300 children every year on educational schemes.
