John Oster helped hand over free bicycle helmets to 45 children at the English Martyrs Pre-School in Tilehurst on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wales international winger made the visit after the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust (BHIT) was chosen as one of the runners-up in the Premier League's recent Creating Chances competition.
The Reading-based charity received a donation of £2,000 from the Premier League as their prize, and the money has funded free bicycle helmets for local children.
The Club's Charity Co-ordinator Abby Carter said, "We have a long-standing relationship with the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust and are pleased to continue supporting them with this donation.
"They are promoting an extremely important message to increase the safety of children on our roads, and it's great they have been able to use the donation to provide free helmets for the school."
Creating Chances is a Premier League initiative to showcase the work of football clubs in their local communities.
