Graeme Murty is patron of Newbury-based charity Swings & Smiles.

Murty was joined by Marcus Hahnemann and Nicky Shorey at their event at Newbury Racecourse last week.

Even though the racing was postponed due to the inclement weather, the event still raised £17,500.

Other patrons of the charity include BBC presenter Clare Balding, and Mary Cameron, mother of Conservative Party leader David Cameron MP.

The charity are going to build a playground in the Newbury area.
