Three coaches from the Royals' Community team - Lee Herron, Paul Hughes and Shelley Strange - spent last week running a soccer camp for 180 children in the USA.

The camp took place in conjunction with Valdosta Lowndes Soccer Club in South Georgia, and a similar camp will now take place every year.

Lee Blenman, the director of coaching at Valdosta, said, "We'd like to thank Reading FC for making the camp a reality.

"We are excited to announce that this will become an annual event with next year's dates to be finalised soon.

"The camp welcomed 180 players and was able to displace American football and baseball from the front page of our local newspaper, as well as local TV news!

"We look forward to seeing Reading again next season."
