This past Friday saw Gylfi Sigurdsson sign a new deal with the Royals that will keep the midfielder at Madejski Stadium until 2012.

The Icelandic U21 international met with Chairman John Madejski at Hogwood Park, and under the watchful eye of Club Secretary Sue Hewett put pen to paper on his contract extension.

The 20-year-old first came to Reading at the age of 14, and celebrated his extended stay by scoring his fourth goal of the campaign at Pride Park on Saturday afternoon.
