Academy administrator

Reading Football Club is looking to recruit a full-time assistant academy administrator.

Within our busy administration office, you will be responsible for the arrangements for Academy fixtures from under-9 to under-15 level, as well as administering all schoolboy player registrations under the supervision of the Reserve Team & Academy Secretary.

In addition, the Assistant Academy Administrator is required to provide administration support to the academy coaches, such as general typing, managing/answering correspondence and telephone calls, arranging travel and accommodation requirements, amongst other general administrative duties.

The core working hours of the Administration department are 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Although based mainly at our Hogwood Park training ground in Finchampstead, on occasion you may also be required to work at Madejski Stadium and cover other Academy activities that take place, such as Player Induction events, FA Youth Cup home matches, special events, etc, or be required to attend an alternative venue for work purposes.

While workload is planned around our fixture lists, games can be added or changed at short notice, which means on occasions it is desirable to be able to offer some degree of flexibility.

The position involves constant liaison with coaches, players, parents, school teachers, other club administrators and football's governing bodies. This communication occurs in all forms, predominantly over the telephone as well as in person and by letter/email dealing with all administrative matters for Reading Football Club's Academy.

The successful candidate should have the ability to communicate excellently at all levels, offering superb administrative support and with strong organisational skills. You should also be PC literate and demonstrate a confident and positive approach to team work. Accuracy and attention to detail is vital, especially when working under pressure. Training will be provided during the three month trial period.

Matchday staff
Reading Football Club are compiling a waiting list for part time match day staff for Coca Cola Championship Football and Premier League Rugby Matches.

Work involves approx 5 hours for about 40 events from August to May. Pay rates from £6 per hour:

A confident, helpful, approachable and enthusiastic personality together with good communication skills and a customer focus are essential to succeed in these roles. Must be smart in appearance. Experience not necessary as full training and support provided.
