Nigel Gibbs

Posted on: Tue 20 Sep 2011
Nigel is a very well-respected coach and has vast experience in the game after a long career both as a player and on the training pitch.

He was a regular at Watford for nearly two decades, making his debut under the management of Graham Taylor in 1983. He retired from playing in 2002 and became Watford's reserve team manager, later having a spell as assistant manager to Ray Lewington before leaving the Hornets in 2005.

He spent the 2005/6 season working on a part-time basis for Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City, whilst also completing his UEFA Pro Licence.

Nigel initially came in as a coach but was promoted to Reserve Team Manager in summer 2009, and became First Team Coach when Brian McDermott took over in January 2010.

Since then he has formed a key partnership with Brian, helping to steer the team to two FA Cup quarter finals and a Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
