The Royals have five players out on loan at the moment, and the official site has an update on their progress.
Graham Stack lined up for Wolves in their shock 3-1 Carling Cup loss at home to Morecambe this midweek, conceding a penalty, one he felt so strongly about he was booked for his protests. He also played for Mick McCarthy's men in their previous cup tie, a 2-1 home win over Bradford.
Alan Bennett is on loan at Southampton until the end of 2007, and he played in their opening day loss at home to Crystal Palace, as well as the Carling Cup defeat away to Peterborough. Boss George Burley has since welcomed back Darren Powell from injury, as well as signing Wayne Thomas, so our Irish international has not been involved in the last two games.
Ben Hamer has been consistent while on loan at Brentford, and the keeper has played all four of the Bees' fixtures since he went there. He drew particular praise from boss Terry Butcher after a draw with Notts County, citing one 'wonderful' save.
Scott Davies [picture by Ian Morsman] scored a very good brace for Aldershot, where he is spending the season on loan. He opened the scoring against Histon at the weekend with a 35-yard free kick into the top corner, before making it 2-0 with an 18-yarder just before half time. Gary Waddock's men went on to win the game 2-1. Davies had already scored one blockbuster this season, netting less than ten seconds after the kick off of the second half away to Kidderminster.
Curtis Osano has played all five of Rushden's games so far in this campaign. He will spend the entire season at Nene Park.
Young keeper Alex McCarthy played for Woking on Bank Holiday Monday on a work experience basis, and could do nothing about either goal in the 2-1 away defeat to Salisbury.
The Royals only have one player in on loan at the moment, with Peter Mate's deal from Debrecen running until the end of 2007. He is currently sidelined through injury.
