'Henry deserves to be included'
Steve Coppell has included James Henry in his squad for tonight's game, and the boss says the right winger deserves his inclusion.
The 18-year-old has been in very good form for the reserves in the past few weeks, scoring a hat-trick against Birmingham and then adding another goal against West Ham.
He also performed well for England's under 19s, and will be on the bench against Liverpool this evening.
Steve told our online TV station Reading World, "He's in the squad, and after a slow start to the season he's performing in a way we thought he was capable of.
"It's fair to say we were a little bit disappointed in his early pre-season form, but in the last month he has really pushed on and started to make an impact. We want to reward that.
"It's still the holy grail for us to have home-grown players in the team regularly.
"But we want to give an opportunity and reward for contribution, and James has really put in his pound of flesh in the last month."
James has been with Reading's Academy for a number of years now, and spurned interest from a top four club to sign professional terms at Madejski Stadium.
He was born in Woodley, and has made one professional appearance on loan for Nottm Forest last season.
