Update on our loan players

Posted on: Thu 27 Sep 2007

The Royals currently have seven players out on loan, and we have an update on their progress:

Simon Cox - Swindon
The frontman is on loan until January, and scored his second goal for the Robins in a 4-1 win at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.

He collected a flick-on nicely with his left foot, then planted home a 14-yard half volley for a very tidy goal.

He also celebrated with a couple of nice somersaults, just to round it off nicely!

He now has two goals in 3(+1) appearance, and told swindontownfc.co.uk, "The result was good, I felt I performed well, and it was a nice bonus with the goal, so I felt happy.

"I've come here to play, do well and score goals. At the moment it's been happening, so if it continues I'll be pleased and hopefully the manager will be too.

"I want to play for the whole season, be it here, at Reading, or elsewhere. I'll have to have those conversations over Christmas."

Scott Davies - Aldershot
The central midfielder has been in scintillating form since going to the Recreation Ground on a season-long deal.

He has six goals in twelve games, and won August's player of the month as the Shots raced to the top of the Blue Square Premier.

Ben Hamer - Brentford
Up until last weekend, Ben had played all six league games for the Bees. He is into his second month-long deal.

Sam Sodje - Charlton
Centre back Sam has made two very late sub appearances in the Championship for Alan Pardew's team.

He was cup-tied for the Addicks' Carling Cup defeat to Luton in midweek. He is on a season-long loan.

Curtis Osano - Rushden
The utility man will spend the whole season at Nene Park, and has played in all 12 of their fixtures, picking up a couple of man of the match awards along the way.

Alan Bennett - Southampton
The Irish international is at St Mary's until January, and played twice in mid-August, with the signings of Wayne Thomas and Christian Dailly making it harder for him to command a place.

He played for their reserves in a 3-2 win against Brighton last night.

Graham Stack - Wolves
The keeper is at Molineux until January, and has been backing up Wayne Hennessy. He played in two Carling Cup games.
