Church scores and Henry shines

Simon Church scored for Wales' under 21s last night as they earned an impressive 4-0 win away to Malta.

Church came off the bench to score the second goal with a close-range finish after a shot was blocked. Simon is on loan at Yeovil until the end of the season.

James Henry and Hal Robson-Kanu both started for England's under 19s as they earned a 2-0 win over Croatia at Swindon.

The official FA website described Henry as a 'thorn in Croatia's side' and he very nearly created a goal for Robson-Kanu after beating two men, but his cross was deflected just inches away from him. Hal played the first half, while Henry got 79 minutes.

Marek Matejovsky played 15 minutes for Czech Republic B as they lost 1-0 to Greece in a game in Cyprus. The full Czech team take on Poland tonight, again in Cyprus, and Marek could be involved once again.

Julian Kelly was in the Ireland u19s squad, but did not play in a 1-0 defeat to the Czech Republic.

Kevin Doyle has been named in the starting eleven. for Ireland's friendly with Brazil tonight. Shane Long and Stephen Hunt should be on the bench.

Bobby Convey is with the USA as they face Mexico this evening.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is with Iceland's under 21s and they play in Cyprus this evening.

Graeme Murty returns today after a training camp with Scotland.
