Shorey - Boro could define the season
Nicky Shorey says Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough could be a defining moment in our season.
After eight defeats in a row, the Royals are desperate to get some points on the board and climb away from the wrong end of the Barclays Premier League table.
Shorey is confident in our ability and character, but admits we have to start picking up results quickly.
Speaking in an interview that is live on Reading World now, the defender said, "We were bitterly disappointed with Sunday's game, but don't write us off yet.
"There's still a way to go, and we'll be pushing hard. We're in there fighting, and I still believe we've got the players to stay up. I am confident that we can do it.
"There's no doubting now that Saturday is a big game, and we said in the dressing room after Villa that it could define our season.
"We'll make sure we are ready, and if ever we've needed home truths it was after Bolton and Villa.
"We've come a long way together, I've played for this team a long time. I wouldn't want anyone else in the trenches with me, they are top lads and we can come through I am sure."
