Reading striker Simon Church scored a vital goal for Wales' under 21s last night as they aim to become the first Welsh team to reach a major finals since 1958.

Church came off the bench in Sarajevo to equalise against Bosnia-Herzegovina inside the last four minutes, then Man City's Ched Evans stole victory with a last-gasp winner.

Brian Flynn's young team now need one win from their remaining two qualifiers to reach the play-offs which determind who makes next summer's Championships.

Manager Flynn said afterwards, "I feared the worst at one point. But Simon Church did very well when he came on. Make no mistake, this was a huge result for us."

Church is currently on loan at League One side Yeovil, having also spent much of the season at Crewe.
