Harper ready for a ding-dong

Posted on: Mon 07 Apr 2008

After defeat at Newcastle, James Harper immediately turned his attention to our home game with Fulham.

Despite starting well, the Royals were comprehensively beaten at St James' Park in the end. Now Harper has looked to our clash with the Cottagers this Saturday.

Harps said, "After losing this one, we've got to have a right go against Fulham, we've got no choice.

"Bolton are six points off us, and we've got to win. It's going to be a right ding-dong because they need to win as well.

"It's at home, we'll take it to them and see what happens."

First team coach Wally Downes also quickly switched his attention to the Fulham game after a disappointing showing against Kevin Keegan's men.

He said, "We were in decent form before the game we were thinking we could get something from it. It hasn't panned out that way, that game has gone and we refocus on Fulham.

"Saturday was never going to define our season, we're at home next and that's all we can look at now."

We take on Fulham at 3pm this Saturday, while Bolton are at home to West Ham and Birmingham host Everton. Wigan are away at Chelsea on Monday.

Marek Matejovsky is back from suspension for us, while there is a good chance Glen Little could be on the bench. The winger travelled to Newcastle but did not make the bench.
