Harper reaches major landmark
James Harper made his 300th appearance in a Reading shirt in Saturday's game against Fulham.
It is a major landmark for the 27-year-old, who joined from Arsenal for a six-figure fee back in February 2001.
He is only the 25th player to reach the 300-game mark in a Reading shirt, and he has been a key player for us practically since the day he arrived and scored on his debut at home to Rotherham.
He was crowned player of the season in 2002/3, our first season in the Championship, and he has flourished in the top flight since our promotion in 2006.
He has only missed two Premier League games in the last two years, and they came right at the tail end of last season.
He has been ever-present in this campaign, missing just 17 minutes in total.
In 275(+25) games for the Royals, he has scored 24 goals. Five of them have come this season, making him our second highest league scorer. This is his second most productive season in terms of goals, having notched seven in our promotion season.
James is among the contenders for this season's player of the season vote. Full details of how to register your selection are online now.
