Season ticket sales well underway

Posted on: Thu 29 May 2008

The Club are happy to report that fans started phoning to renew their 2008/9 season ticket within minutes of prices being announced.

Details for next season were confirmed on Tuesday of this week when Royals Chairman John Madejski was live on Sky Sports News for a press conference about Steve Coppell's decision to stay at Reading.

While the Chairman was still on TV, North Stand season ticket holders Harvey & Ryan Lodder were the first to call in and renew, and more supporters soon followed suit.

Sales have been brisk since then, and our Ticket Office Manager John Hobson has been very pleased with the fans' response to the announcement.

John told readingfc.co.uk, "The Chairman was still on his feet when the phone went! We were watching the press conference and it was a bit surreal for it to all happen so quickly and take the first renewal.

"I'm glad to say everyone who has phoned has been very positive, both in terms of prices and how they feel about next season generally.

"After a relegation, you would fully understand somebody being downbeat, but it's not been like that and that's been really nice for all of us at the Club."

The vast majority of adult season tickets have been cut by £120, which is a reduction of almost 25%. A season ticket also includes four more league fixtures for next season.

Adult match ticket prices have fallen to £23 in most areas, down from the 2007/8 maximum of £37.

Season ticket holders can renew now in our online ticketing service, in person at the Ticket Office or by telephone on 0844 249 1871.

Renewals are available until close of business on Friday 20th June. Any new season tickets will then go on sale, on a Royalty Points basis, from Monday 30th June.

Season ticket holders will also receive an official information pack in the post.
