Soggy 'Soccer Six' stars shine
Despite the Bank Holiday rain, the celebs and fans alike turned out in force for the Soccer Six tournament held at Madejski Stadium on Monday.
A healthy crowd braved the strong winds and persistent rain to cheer on their favourites - and judging by the volume levels, most of the vocal support seemed to be aimed at McFly.
The pop stars responded by clinching a draw against Reading supporters The Hoosiers in the final group game of the day; a point which edged McFly into the quarter-finals.
Assisted by ex-Manchester United hero Lee Sharpe, the popsters couldn't go on to lift the trophy however, and were beaten 4-0 in the final by a team from The Sun - for whom Tony Cottee starred and scored a stunning top corner volley from the left wing.
The women's final saw crowd favourites 'Page Three Girls' comrehensively beaten by Kukri All Stars.
Despite defeat though, they did treat the crowd to an impromptu shirt swap and photo call in shorts and bras!
Neville Southall lined up in goal for a team of comedians, which included Omid Djalili and Noel Fielding of the Mighty Boosh.
Wokingham-born Nicholas Hoult, star of teen drama 'Skins' and the film 'About a Boy' , played alongside ex-Blazin' Squad star Kenzie.
Former Big Brother favourite Nikki Grahame and ex-Steps singer Lisa Scott Lee were other famous faces on show, while a 2TEN FM side reached the quarter-finals.
Royals Chairman John Madejski presented the men's medals and the trophy. See some of the best pictures in our gallery now.
