Royals Chairman John Madejski this week took time out to thank the Lodder family, who were the first fans to renew their season tickets this summer.
Renewal details were announced on 18th May, the same day that Steve Coppell confirmed he was staying, and it only took a matter of minutes between the announcement and the Lodders phoning to secure their place for 2008/9.
As a special thank you, the Chairman wanted to meet Harvey Lodder, his partner Sarah Girdler and eight-year-old son Ryan, whom he showed around the dressing room personally and spoke to at length.
The Chairman said, "It was fantastic to meet Sarah, Ryan and Harvey. They're a great family and we had a lovely chat.
"We have a sense of community here, and the Lodders personify that.
"I'm delighted that they were the first family to renew their season tickets and I hope a lot of people will take this example to renew theirs."
Harvey was delighted to renew so quickly, and explained, "I was watching Sky Sports News and saw the press conference about Steve Coppell staying with us at Reading. As soon as I saw the season ticket details I thought 'right, let's go for that!'
"I was online and it was quick and easy to do - a simple call to the ticket centre and you can renew. For a great family day out it is well worth it, and it's good support for the Club as well, which I think it needs. We need to stand together as fans for this season and hope we go back up to the Premier League for next season.
"Our seats are in the North Stand and we'll be clapping and cheering with the rest of the Reading fans, which is fantastic. It's a brilliant spot just behind the goal, we see every goal and every save from Marcus. It's just a great day out, it really is."
