Oster on trial at County

Posted on: Tue 15 Jul 2008

Former Reading man John Oster is currently on trial with Championship rivals Derby County.

Oster left Madejski Stadium this summer after his contract came to an end, and he is now bidding to win a deal for Paul Jewell's side.

His last game in a hooped shirt was at Pride Park when we won 4-0 on the final day of the season but were relegated out of the Barclays Premier League.

John was a Royal for three seasons, and played 43(+47) times for Steve Coppell, scoring three goals.

Along with John, the Royals did not offer new deals to John Halls, Graham Stack, Ulises De La Cruz and Aaron Brown, and they are all currently looking for new clubs. De La Cruz has been linked with a move to Spain.

Youngster Adam Bygrave joined Weymouth after leaving in May, while Glen Little signed for Portsmouth.
