QuickPay will be in operation in blocks GU8-GU12 for this weekend's game with Aston Villa.

QuickPay is a cashless payment system which speeds up kiosk service, allowing fans to use their Season Ticket or Member Card to pay for food or drinks at concourse kiosks.

Last week the Club confirmed that the system will be introduced throughout Madejski Stadium during the 2008/9 season, following a successful trial in the Upper West Stand earlier this year.

The introduction of QuickPay will take place one stand at a time, starting with the Upper West North (blocks GU8-GU12), where the trial took place last season. The system will be in operation throughout the 2008/9 season in this area.

QuickPay will be then introduced into other stands gradually over the course of the season, and season ticket holders will be contacted with full information in advance.

For supporters who do not have a Season Ticket or Member Card, Kiosk Cards will be available to purchase from the QuickPay team on the concourses on matchdays.

Once QuickPay has been introduced into each stand, kiosk tills will no longer accept cash as a method of payment.

Reading FC Chief Executive Nigel Howe said, "We are committed to improving the levels of customer services to our supporters, and we are delighted to increase our investment in this area by introducing the QuickPay system throughout Madejski Stadium following last season's successful trial."

Mark Hyer, e-Money Project Manager from Fortress, the Club's technology partners on the QuickPay project, added, "We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Reading Football Club by providing this cutting edge solution, which will greatly benefit supporters and the Club alike."

To use QuickPay, supporters need to load money onto their Season Ticket or Member Card before purchasing food or drinks on the concourse. The quickest way to do this is online or by text message before arriving at the stadium - go to readingfc.co.uk, choose the Fans tab and select QuickPay for full instructions. Supporters can also email royalsquickpay@readingfc.co.uk or call 0844 249 1871.

Reading FC's commitment to QuickPay is part of a programme of investment in concourse kiosk facilities including upgraded tills, faster beer dispense equipment in selected stands and staff training, while improving the speed of service on concourse bars is one of the three pledges made by the Club to the Football League this season.

The trial of the system towards the end of last season was followed by an evaluation process, including a research survey which was emailed to fans in the Upper West Stand. The survey concluded that queuing times had been significantly reduced and that 83% of supporters found the new system easy to use.
