Ivar satisfied with a point

Posted on: Mon 11 Aug 2008

Ivar Ingimarsson says the Royals will take a point from the 0-0 at Nottingham Forest to start their Championship season.

It was a fairly low key affair at the City Ground, and chances in front of goal were at a premium throughout.

Ivar was relatively happy to get a positive result in our first match of the season, saying, "It's one point on the board and we will take that, to be honest.

"Forest are used to winning, they've just been promoted and I thought we really had to dig in at times.

"We're happy with a clean sheet, it looked like that header was going in from Doyle but it was a magnificent save.

"Overall we can be happy, it was quite good. One or two things were not as they should be, but that's expected in the first game of the season.

"We will get better and maybe we just need to add a little pace to our game but it wasn't easy to do on that pitch."

Ivar lined up with Ibrahima Sonko at centre half, and was happy to see him help keep a clean sheet. "There's been a lot of talk about him but he did brilliantly. He was really committed to it and did fantastically well."

The Royals are back in Coca-Cola Championship action this coming Saturday when we host Plymouth Argyle.

Tickets are on general sale now, starting at £23 adults and £12 for 16 & under. Phone 0844 249 1871, use the online ticketing service or visit in person.
