Marcus Hahnemann says the only way is up for the Royals after we started our Championship season with a 0-0 draw away to Nottingham Forest.

We never quite hit top gear at the City Ground, but it was a solid draw and we can be reasonably happy to get the ball rolling with a point away from home.

Marcus said after the game, "We will get better from here. It was always going to be difficult against a team that has just come up in a match at their place.

"They were up for it, so the biggest thing was always going to be our approach, and I thought the approach was great overall. If you don't concede you won't lose!

"It was important we got a clean sheet, we were solid at the back. They got a couple of crosses in but the defending was great.

"Down the other end Kevin had a great chance that was saved, we had some others and we will get better."

The Royals are back in Coca-Cola Championship action this coming Saturday when we host Plymouth Argyle.
