Sonko serves one match ban
The ban starts with immediate effect, so he misses this evening's Carling Cup tie with Luton Town.
The defender was sent off for two bookable changes at The Valley at the weekend, and the first decision was somewhat harsh, with Luke Varney clearly handling the ball before Sonko challenged him on halfway.
Ibrahima said, "For the first challenge I felt he brought the ball down with his hand and then I tried to tap it. I said to the ref I didn't understand that one.
"The second one he said was dangerous play, but I was right in front of him so he could see it all the way. I would not try to hit someone like that, the ball was there to be played.
"He had time to jump over me, it wasn't like I came in from the side. What was I going to do, just let him take the ball?"
Sonko also scored and conceded a penalty, so it was an action-packed game for him to say the least.
"I went through every emotion. It's working up front but for me it was a bad day overall.
"For the penalty, I was trying to slow him down so to say I pushed him was extreme. Fair play, he got what he was looking for. When he was in the box he fell down.
"I asked the ref and he said I pushed him. There was no point arguing but but it was harsh."
