Mooney hat-trick in 10-1 win
Reading 10 (Sodje 17, 40, Mooney 29, 83, 88, Lita 36 (pen), 38, Henry 55, Crnobrnja (og) 61, Bozanic 86)
Lewes 1 (Campbell 53)
The Royals' reserves earned a very emphatic 10-1 win over Blue Square Premier side Lewes at Madejski Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Recent signing David Mooney scored a hat-trick, while Sam Sodje and Leroy Lita bagged two apiece, Lita also seeing a left-footed penalty saved.
James Henry, Oliver Bozanic and an own goal rounded off the scoring, with Danny Campbell notching what was purely a consolation for the visitors in the second half.
It was one-way traffic for Brian McDermott's side, and they showed good determination to keep going to the very end, scoring three of their goals inside the last ten minutes.
Graeme Murty got 84 minutes under his belt as he continued his comeback from injury, and it was a very satisfying afternoon's work for our second string.
Full exclusive video highlights will be available on our online TV station Reading World on Thursday.

First half
David Mooney could have scored in the first minute but didn't get a clean contact when sliding in on a deep cross.
He then had another chance on 11 minutes but miscued on his left foot as it came across him. On 17 it was finally 1-0, Sam Sodje glancing in a header off the post.
Lita nodded a good chance over on 26, and an almighty scramble two minutes later almost saw us nick a third.
Just before the half hour Mooney had his first in Reading colours, showing good feet to work space and fire into the net after Lita's nice flick on.
The goals then started to flow, and Lita won and converted a penalty on 36, before Lita again scored two minutes later with a very good low strike from Mooney's pass.
We had our third goal in the space of just five minutes when Sodje headed home Oliver Bozanic's corner. The defender thought he had a hat trick a minute later but was given offside.
Second half
Visiting frontman Danny Campbell broke the offside trap on 51 minutes and rounded Adam Federici well to slot home into an open net. Lewes' sole, very vocal, supporter in the east stand was delighted to say the least!
James Henry immediately saw normal service resumed though, curling home a nice left footer from 20 yards.
Just after the hour visiting defender Goran Crnobrnja scored an own goal, powering in an unstoppable header past his keeper from six yards.
On 71 Lita won another penalty, and took the spot kick left footed but saw it saved by Dean Ruddy.
The goals continued to flow in the final minutes, with Mooney stabbing home after good work down the left by substitute Nicholas Bignall.
Bozanic made it 9-1 with a tidy turn and finish, then Mooney lashed home for his hat-trick and double figures.
