Andre Bikey says Steve Coppell was left very angry with the team's performance at Ipswich on Saturday.

The Royals never got a complete foothold in the encounter, and were left rueing missed chances before Town scored.

Bikey came on as a late substitiute for Jem Karacan to play in the centre of midfield, his first appearance of the campaign.

He said, "
Nobody is happy. Not only did we lose the game, we didn't do what the gaffer told us.

"
We didn't do our jobs and he is very angry."

Bikey is keen to get himself into the team, and said, "Now I'm here I think only about Reading. I want to play and help the team.

"It's a shame I've missed so many games but I don't set the dates for the international games so what can I do?

"Now I'm here and I need to work hard to get back in.

"I'm not concerned about it because there are so many games coming up that I will have a chance to show what I can do."

Coppell was asked after the game if he sees Andre as a longer-term option in midfield, but said, "He plays centre back for his country.

"He's been away for the World Cup, Olympics and then another game last week so he's only trained with us I think six times in the three months since we started pre-season."
