Sodje loan spell cut short

Posted on: Tue 30 Sep 2008

Sam Sodje's loan spell at Watford has been cut short and the defender has returned to Madejski Stadium.

Sam suffered a recurrence of a knee injury during the Hornets' trip to Sheffield United on Saturday, and now faces a spell on the sidelines.

The former Brentford man joined the Hornets late last week and played the full 90 minutes in their 2-1 loss at Bramall Lane.

He spent the majority of last season on loan at Charlton, and has not played for the Royals' first team since our Carling Cup win at Swansea in August 2007, although he was on the bench twice this season.

Meanwhile, Alan Bennett and Ben Hamer continued their good form with Brentford, lining up in a 1-0 win at Chesterfield.

Adam Federici was named in the League One team of the week after his debut for Southend; Hal Robson-Kanu also playing in a 3-0 win over Leyton Orient.

Scott Davies played for Aldershot but they lost 2-1 at Notts County. Simon Church was suspended for Wycombe and Viktor Illugason not involved at Eastbourne. Emerse Fae played for Nice in a 1-0 loss at Rennes.
