4:20pm - Steve Coppell has not changed his side nor his bench and the same sixteen that have been named for the previous two fixtures are retained.

Gareth Ainsworth has dropped Dexter Blackstock to the bench, who is surprisingly joined by ex-Italian international Damiano Tommasi.

4:53pm - Leroy Lita has just stolen three points for Norwich at home to Doncaster. That's his fourth goal in four days!

4:55pm - Sadly it looks like Wolves are going to hang onto a win at Watford, and Birmingham have strolled to a home victory against Sheffield Wednesday. Reading need to win to keep up the pressure on the top two!

5:18pm - The two teams are out and there's a good reception awaiting them inside Madejski Stadium.

4 mins - It's all QPR in the opening stages but Marcus Hahnemann's quick goalkick sends Noel Hunt scampering after it. It bounces and almost over Radek Cerny sho has come out of his box to head it clear.

11 mins - No clear cut chances for either side but QPR have looked the more composed. The game has a good pace to it though.

12 mins - Jimmy Kebe gets it from Doyle and he glides past his man and into the box on the right side. He edges in and looks like he might shoot but Damion Delaney comes across to see it behind for a corner. Quickly taken, the corner is flicked on by Kebe at the near post but no-one there so QPR clear.

16 mins - Martin Rowlands shoots from 25 yards out but Stephen Hunt charges it down. It flies wide for a corner which Hahnemann clings onto.

21 mins - Karacan makes a run from midfield and flicks a left sided corss on to Kebe behind him. Kebe watches it bounce and then froma  tight angle drives it into the side netting. A clean strike but it would have taken something special to beat Cerny from there.

23 mins - The Hunts overlap on the left wing and Stephen crosses it in. Cerny is out to collect it into his body without too much bother.

25 mins - Samuel D Carmine chases after a ball over the top and he's shoulder to shoulder with Bikey. The Cameroonian just about keeps up and muscles him off track a little but Hahnemann still has to push his left-footed effort wide low to his left.

27 mins - Doyle rolls his man on the left flank ans if being pulled back. The referee allows play to go on as Doyle still has it and he chips a dangerous cross into the box. Noel Hunt is diving full stretch but can't get a touch and the delivery whistles just wide of the far post.

29 mins - Doyle races past Stewart and is brought down. He gets a corner for his troubles, which Cerny punches clear.

32 mins - Hunt wins a free kick on the right side and delivers a dangerous inswinger. It's just too high for Ivar Ingimarsson and the ball sails through to Cerny.

35 mins - Stephen finds his brother Noel with a quick throw. He cuts it back for the onrushing Kebe but a QPR leg is stuck out to stab it away. Hunt wins another corner but this one is headed clear.

38 mins - Cerny comes for a cross and makes a mess of it. It drops to Kebe who is clearly pulled back inside the area. The referee gives nothing and a relieved Cerny falls on the loose ball. That should maybe have been a penalty.

41 mins - Hunt delivers a 40-yard free kick into the edge of the box and Kebe's leg sends it skywards. It's dropping for Noel Hunt who directs a good standing header towards the right corner but Cerny leaps to his left to save and gather.

45 mins - One minute of injury time to be played.

HALF TIME - A strange game. Plenty of pace and passion about it, but no clear cut opportunities at either end. Noel Hunt forced Cerny into a save and Kebe might claim he should have had a penalty. But it looks like one goal could be enough to separate the sides.

47 mins - Hunt chests down from a throw on the byline and lofts a cross in, but it strikes Mahon's elbow. Everyone appeals for a handball and a penalty but only a corner is given.

49 mins - Hunt delivers a brilliant corner into the near post and Cerny punches clear under pressure. Rosenior redelivers it and Ingimarsson tries to stab it goalwards, It's blocked out to Karacan who drives it through a host of bodies but scuffs it wide of the left post.

51 mins - Good start to the second half by Reading. Hunt is providing the added impretus with some great work down the left. His latest cross is low and too close to Cerrny though.

53 mins - Bikey tries and over ambitious clearance and it's intercepted. Gunnarsson fouls and concedes a free kick 30 yards from goal. Parejo shoots but Hahnemann watches it all the way and catches it with ease.

56 mins - Good one touch stuff from Armstrong, Doyle and then Stephen Hunt who crosses into the near post for his brother. Noel can't get the angle on his shot though and it skims wide.

59 mins - Doyle flicks it on well and Noel Hunt is after it but the danger is cleared before Hunt can get away.

60 mins - QPR substitution. Dexter Blackstock is on for Di Carmine.

63 mins - Hahnemann is behind a long range strike but fumbles it in the air on collection. Blackstock clatters into him but Hahnemann holds on.

63 mins - Danger again. Blackstock races onto a ball after he charges down Bikey at the back and he collects it on the left. Hahneman is out and forces him wide to allow Bikey and co to recover, Blackstock does cut it back for Parejo though and Hahnemann has to save low to his right to deny the Spaniard.

64 mins - A deep cross from the right finds Noel Hunt, who heads it down. Cerny gathers it on his goalline at the near post.

68 mins - Doyle is racing onto a long ball down the left channel and he gets a cross into the box. It doesn't reach Karacan and the danger subsides.

69 mins - Hahnemann is in two minds as to whether to come from a right-sided cross. He opts not to and Blackstock beats Bikey in the air, but Hahnemann plucks his header out of the air as it sails towards the top right corner.

71 mins - Stephen Hunt lines up a free kick and this time he goes straight for goal. His effort gets over the wall but skims just wide of the left post. Cerny had it covered I think.

73 mins - Reading double substitution. Gunnarsson is replaced by James Harper. Karacan is replaced by Kalifa Cisse.

75 mins - Hunt is fouled by Liegertwood on the left and Harper delivers an inswinger. Rowlands flicks it on and almost goalwards but it skids wide. Three successive corners come Reading's way and the third, and outswinger from Hunt, is headed agonisingly wide by Bikey.

78 mins - Reading survive two corners at the other end now. Both are scrambled clear.

80 mins - Reading substitution. Shane Long is coming on for Jimmy Kebe.

85 mins - Hunt has a corner to deliver on the right and he does so into the near post. Cisse gets a head to it and it is floating towards the top right corner. Cerny claws it away brilliantly. Great save. The second corner is nodded clear at the near post.

86 mins - Parejo at the other end looks for a penalty diving as Bikey slides in. No penalty and no yellow card that would have meant red had it been shown. Parejo makes way for Balenta now in a late sub.

90(+1) mins - Rosenior from the right delivers from the byline. Doyle glances it on but it flashes across the face of goal and Hunt loses out in a battle beyond the far post.

90(+2) mins - Long wins it well on the right and crosses it into the box. It falls to Stephen Hunt at the far post and his first touch isn't good enough to set up the shot. His cross is blocked out and a long throw in signals the end of a disappointing game for the hosts.

FULL TIME - Reading not at their best again and only manage to eke out a point. A point is probably a fair result after a nervous game that lacked a lot of quality in the final third.
