7:05pm - Teams are in, and Reading make two changes - Harper and Cisse replacing Karacan and Gunnarsson. Jem drops to the bench but Gunnarsson has been rested and has not travelled. Marek Matejovsky is on the bench; his first involvement since August, and Alex Pearce is among the subs - no room for Julian Kelly.
7:20pm - Chris Eagles is in Burnley's starting XI tonight, and the Royals will be wary of him after he came off the bench to good effect in the home game back on 4th October - we won 3-1 with goals from the Hunt brothers and Shane Long.
7:35pm - Fair to say it's a chilly evening up in Lancashire, but at least there's no sign of the snow that enlivened our journey through the Midlands.
7:37pm - This ground is called Turf Moor; a steward helpfully pointed out that's because it's a piece of turf close to the moor. Now all is clear.
7:39pm - This is sure to be a tough test for Steve Coppell's men, facing a Burnley team who have only lost once in their last 13 outings - against Reading earlier this month.
7:42pm - The players are out and the ground is slowly filling up, but there won't be a big attendance for this game. Around 300 very hardy Reading fans have made the long trip - well done to them.
7:44pm - James Harper is back in the team and back in possession of the captain's armband. He seems to win the coin toss and has got the teams to switch ends. We're ready to roll.
2 mins - Quiet start, both keepers get an easy early touch after back headers from their defence.
5 mins - Jimmy Kebe advances down the right and his cross is cleared to Liam Rosenior. His dinked cross is flicked on at the near post by Noel Hunt and somehow eludes the onrushing Stephen Hunt. Promising early signs.
8 mins - Burnley's first shot is a harmless curling effort from Martin Paterson easily saved. Reading break and Kebe's run is halted by Gudjonsson's last ditch challenge. Reading get it back and Stephen Hunt's cross is nodded down by Noel for Kebe to volley from 20 yards. Jensen saves athletically and then gets back up to also block Noel Hunt's rebound effort. That should have been the opener.
15 mins - It's fairly even at the moment, Reading looking marginally more incisive with Harper making a good return to the team in the middle of the park.
17 mins - Great play by Kevin Doyle sees the Irishman strike the post. He receives a long ball down the right and cuts inside onto his left foot to shoot powerfully from 20 yards. Jensen's nowhere near it but his left post rescues him. Very unlucky for Reading, who should be leading this game.
18 mins - Free kick on the left wing is floated in by Harper. Kebe flicks it on and Jensen can only just hold onto it.
23 mins - Midway through the period and Reading can be well pleased with their performance. They are in full command and looking dangerous in attack with Burnley offering little with the home crowd starting to get agitated.
27 mins...and having said all that, Burnley force the mother of all goalmouth scrambles as Paterson beats Rosenior to cross low from the left. Hahnemann half blocks and Steven Thompson is in there trying to force it home. Eventually after about six ricochets it's scrambled away. First real pressure from the home team.
30 mins - Beautiful flowing move from the Royals with Armstrong, Harper, Doyle and Cisse combining to feed Kebe on the edge of the box. He jinks inside and fires powerfully but still his goal drought continues as Jensen produces an excellent save.
35 mins - Chris Eagles swings in a left wing cross and Chris McCann rises to meet it with a glancing header that drifts wide of the right post.
37 mins - Stephen Hunt mishits a left wing cross and it nearly sails over the head of Jensen, who has to tip over for a corner. The corner's worked short to Harper and his dangerous cross is just cleared. Jensen is hurt in the melee and needs treatment, but he should be ok.
41 mins - Kebe is fouled 30 yards out and Andre Bikey decides to try his luck. It goes a long way over the bar. A long way.
43 mins - Rosenior is tripped by Eagles but the ref doesn't see it and Burnley win a corner as a result. It's cleared as far as Elliott who hooks it back in. Paterson is unmarked and has a great chance but half-connects straight to Hahnemann. Burnley's best chance there.
45 mins - There will be two minutes added.
Half-time - Injury time passes without incident and we reach the interval goalless. Reading should be leading - Noel Hunt missed a good chance, Kevin Doyle struck the post and Jimmy Kebe has forced two good saves from Brian Jensen. Burnley have had the odd attack but Reading have dominated and Steve Coppell will be disappointed not to be ahead.
47 mins - Stephen Hunt takes a quick throw into Armstrong and the left back just inside the box is clearly fouled. Nothing is given and three Reading men question why the referee hasn't awarded a penalty there!
48 mins - Harper swings in a free kick from the left and Jensen has to push it clear low at his near post. It clatters into a Burnley leg and behind. The corner falls out to Bikey who drives from 20 yards but it fizzes wide of the right post.
51 mins - Kebe breaks at pace down the right. Rosenior is chasing after him and in support inside him. Kebe lays it off for him, he takes a touch and drills a shot across the face of goal and just wide.
53 mins - A glorious ball from Cisse finds Hunt scampering down the left. He wins a corner which is swept into the near post. It hits a Burnley man and goes behind and the referee awards a goal kick. A few decisions seem to be going against Reading here tonight.
58 mins - Burnley substitution. Paterson is replaced by Robbie Blake. Hahnemann easily behind a left footed volley from Gudjonsson.
60 mins - Kebe wins a free kick on the right. Hunt delivers it and Bikey powers a great header towards the top right corner. Jensen somehow pushes it onto his post and Hunt's drive back into the box is blocked behind. How did Jensen save that?
63 mins - Reading so unlucky again! Harper delivers a beautiful inswinging free kick that flies off a defender's head and it cannons into the right stanchion. A Burnley head nods it behind for another corner that Kebe drives wide.
65 mins - This is ridiculous. Armstrong storms forward from left back and drives low left footed. It deflects off a Burnley leg and looks like it might wrongfoot Jensen but the big stopper tips it around his post. How are Reading not winning? Steve Coppell's men could rue these missed chances.
68 mins - Noel Hunt flicks a left sided cross on and Kebe does well to control it and turn his man. He hooks a right footed shot at goal and Jensen is there again to palm it away.
72 mins - Burnley substitution. Kalvenes is being helped off the field and won't continue. Kevin McDonald comes on.
74 mins - Eagles has some space on the left now and he delivers a good cross into the box. Blake tries to acrobaticallty connect with it but he is inches short ans it flies by the far post.
77 mins - Burnley substitution. Jay Rodriguez replaces Thompson.
79 mins - GOAL! From nothing Burnley break through Wade Elliott and it come to the striker. Robbie Blake shoots from 20 yards out. He drills it low into the bottom left corner. This is Preston all over again!
83 mins - Blake handles it on the floor and concedes a free kick. Reading pump it in there and it drops out to Doyle, whose drive is blocked by McDonald.
87 mins - Doyle lashes wide from distance. This is another sickener. Coppell is going to be so frustrated if his side fail to muster any points from another game they have completely dominated.
90 mins - Ingimarsson misjudges an aerial ball and Blake collects it. He turns onto his left foot and drills it into the side netting.
90(+3) mins - Reading throwing everything forward but time is running out. So disappointing to take nothing from this game. Reading have been much much the better side.
FULL TIME - Reading deserved three points and have won nothing. They drop behind Cardiff and now sit in fourth position.
