Doyle praises 'unreal' Jensen
Kevin Doyle admits he could not believe how good Burnley keeper Brian Jensen was on Tuesday night - and praised the Dane for some 'unreal' saves.
Jensen's best stops were from an Andre Bikey header that he tipped onto the post, a Jimmy Kebe volley that he kept out at full stretch, and another brilliant save when he readjusted to keep out Chris Armstrong's effort as it took a deflection and looked sure to spin past him.
On the two occasions when he was beaten by Doyle, both efforts came back off the woodwork, first with a left footed drive then later with a flicked header as he stood stranded.
World TV: Boss deflated by defeat
Report: Burnley 1-0 Reading
It was a hugely frustrating night for the Royals, and Doyle said, "The keeper had springs in his boots - he made some unreal saves! You couldn't say it was bad finishing - even when it looked like being an OG he pulled off a worldy!
"After 70 minutes you started to wonder if Burnley would nick one because we'd had so many good chances and so much pressure.
"We had corners, free kicks, shots, headers, hit the post, the crossbar - you name it. Jimmy had a couple saved, Noel had a chance but there were some great saves to be fair.
"Sometimes if you're well beaten you just have to take defeat and admit the other team were better. But we didn't play badly this time, and there's not much you can say apart from maybe finish better. This type of thing just always happens to someone."
Extended video highlights, including every one of Jensen's saves, will be online at 9:45pm on Wednesday evening.
