New signing Michail Antonio is looking forward to working with Steve Coppell after joining the Royals from Tooting and Mitcham

The 18-year-old, who signed this week after a successful trial, said, "I know everything about Steve Coppell. He found Ian Wright - hopefully he can help me turn out like that because Ian Wright was a hero of mine."

Michail was delighted to join the Royals, having earlier missed out on the chance of signing for Spurs.

"When I was 14 I could have gone to Tottenham, but my mum said my education should come first so I stayed at Tooting and Mitcham.

"I thought I had missed my chance, and I was shocked when I heard Reading wanted me. I was over the moon.

"There were nerves at first, but I have adjusted and they have all gone now. It is going well and I am really enjoying it.

"I have really noticed a difference in the standard. It is so much quicker here. It is difficult but I will get used to it and coming into training every day should improve me as a player."
